Alas

All weekend long I struggled to post because of internet troubles at home. Now I've lost my camera adapter and fear I must have left it behind in Mount Airy. I'm still taking pictures, if you're interested, but until I find the adapter, I can't put any pictures online. Sorry.

Back to School

"The united states in congress assembled shall also be the last resort on appeal in all disputes and differences now subsisting or that hereafter may arise between two or more states concerning boundary, jurisdiction or any other cause whatever; which authority shall always be exercised in the manner following. Whenever the legislative or executive authority or lawful agent of any state in controversy with another shall present a petition to congress stating the matter in question and praying for a hearing, notice thereof shall be given by order of congress to the legislative or executive authority of the other state in controversy, and a day assigned for the appearance of the parties by their lawful agents, who shall then be directed to appoint by joint consent, commissioners or judges to constitute a court for hearing and determining the matter in question: but if they cannot agree, congress shall name three persons out of each of the united states, and from the list of such persons each party shall alternately strike out one, the petitioners beginning, until the number shall be reduced to thirteen; and from that number not less than seven, nor more than nine names as congress shall direct, shall in the presence of congress be drawn out by lot, and the persons whose names shall be so drawn or any five of them, shall be commissioners or judges, to hear and finally determine the controversy..."

Wish You Were Here

A Welcome, Familiar Sight

Another late night leads to another late post. Sorry. But hey, at least I took the picture on the correct day. I had to do this on the run, so it may be a bit blurry.

You Can Still Use Sugar

I'm still on my tea kick thanks to Crystal's brilliant discovery of rooibos on this side of the Atlantic, so I was amazed when this story informed me that adding milk to my hot tea can block some of its health affects. Just thought I'd pass it along.

Upgrade Adobe

So apparently there's a security flaw in Adobe Reader that allows people to do nasty things on your computer. You might want to read this and uprgade. By the way, my favorite line from the article: "So far there is no evidence that the bug is being exploited in the wild." Sounds kinda like a nature show, doesn't it?

Indescribable, Uncontainable

Make Up Picture Number 2

Here is my true love in Nashville. Her name is Dory and I love her much more than she loves me. Oh well. I've got another week to woo her.

Make Up Picture Number 1

I found the adapter. Here's what would've been friday's picture. I call it "Shay Loves Our Hotel Room."

No Adapter

So since I can't seem to find the adapter which allows me to transfer my pictures from the camera to the computer, I've now missed two consecutive days of photos. Worry not; I've still got images lined up and ready to go. For now, enjoy this picture of a boxer which looks sorta kinda like the one I like to play with in between recording sessions. A picture of the real specimen is to follow.

Our hotel

...is not nearly as nice as this one. Not even close. But we did drop by the Westin to visit the Wake Forest Visitors' Center, where we ran into Mugsy yesterday. This is also the only place in Miami where Wake fans outnumber Louisville fans, so yay for that as well. The Louisville peeps are headquartered at Trump International. Trump indeed.

Mugsy and Me

I thought I'd start my January pics with a local celeb. When we say Mugsy in the lobby of the Wake hotel Mom ran him down insisted we get a picture. He was really nice about it. We were so excited, but two of the hotel employees later asked us "Who is that guy?" I guess the legend of Mugsy Bogues only extends so far.
