Metaphor

I'm in a contemplative mood these days, so when I ran across this story I immediately began to assign the clash between a burmese python and an alligator metaphoric significance. Two giants, battling each other for supremacy until their mutual destruction is assured: kinda makes you think Dr. Strangelove, right? Oh well, maybe not.
But still, the idea of a snake swallowing an alligator whole. And then exploding from the internal pressure. A little bit cool, right?

WFU > FSU

At least for one night, anyway. I don't think words can truly do this one justice, so I'll just leave it at that.

A Tribute

Donald Rumsfeld is set to resign as Defense Secretary after yesterday's election results. You may say what you like about the man, his policies and his effectiveness, but against his eloquence you musn't utter a word. I submit to you this list of quotations as proof. Our country may or may not have just lost a great leader, but it cannot be doubted that we have lost a great purveyor of b.s.

Rather than take the time to arouse once more my righteous indignation, I'll just link to this article from the bbc and leave it at that. Happy electing, everyone.

Bummer

I wrote a long post yesterday about negative campaigning and how angry it makes me but my internet fell out and the post was erased. Sad. I have neither the time nor the patience to recreate that post now. My main point was that I pretty much hate whoever it was that put a specific ad up, though I don't know who that person is. If you know, please do not vote for that person tomorrow. I'll try to remember what I wrote and put something comparable up later. Thanks for your patience.
